National Leader of the Azerbaijani people commemorated in Kharkiv

By the initiative of the Honorary Consulate of Azerbaijan an event dedicated to the memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, an outstanding statesman Heydar Aliyev was held at the Kharkiv State City National University named after O.M.Beketov.

As reported by AZERTAJ, the participants of the event got acquainted with the photo exhibition dedicated to the life path of Heydar Aliyev.

The event was addressed by the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Ukraine Seymur Mardaliyev, who emphasized the wisdom and scope of the ideas of the outstanding son of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev, his merits in strengthening diplomatic relations with Ukraine, and his influence on world politics. He noted that the preservation and revival of Azerbaijani statehood is associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev.

“Heydar Aliyev laid the foundation for the diplomacy of modern independent Azerbaijan. Today, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, constant work is being carried out to implement these strategies. Azerbaijan has taken a worthy place in the world. We still have been talking about the great victory of Azerbaijan for 4 years now,” the diplomat said.

At the event, the chairman of the Council of Honorary Citizens of the Kharkiv region Mykola Titov, the president of the Ukrainian Engineering Academy Anatoly Vasilyev, the honorary consul of Azerbaijan Afgan Salmanov and honorary citizens of Kharkiv spoke about the merits of Heydar Aliyev to his people and his role in forming the traditions of statehood in Azerbaijan.

The event ended with a screening of a documentary about the life path of the national leader of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev.
